Hi, I’m Kris, and my WHY behind my passion for helping others illuminate their life’s purpose and become a lighter, happier, more vibrant version is, like many of you, I was breaking piece by piece until my body finally slowed me down and three autoimmune diseases were ruining my health.
I was 24 years old with a 3-year-old daughter, leaving a physically and emotionally abusive marriage. I returned to college while working as a waitress at a local diner. I had no idea what to do as a career, so I settled on Business Administration.
Upon graduating, I applied for many positions and was grateful I was hired at a local college to help career counsel and enroll prospective students. I fell in love with helping my students plan out their future and offer myself as an example of a struggling single parent working hard to make a different life for me and my daughter. I started to realize what I always knew but forgot: I am highly intuitive and have a “knowing” of others' strengths and life paths. My intuition and heart helped over 10K students find their path and support them even today (love social media to stay connected).
I worked my way up to managing college/university enrollment teams and finally felt I was making it! My good friend had a brilliant idea to start a nonprofit helping our community learn holistic health and mindfulness practices; she knew I loved learning and was all in.
We had a small board and created the Buffalo Wellness Center, a nonprofit dedicated to helping our community fund to offer scholarships to those in a health crisis to afford holistic services with local providers. I was blessed to meet so many talented holistic providers trained in different modalities, and this guided my quest to further my mindfulness education and help others.
I was taking college classes, working a demanding career, managing a nonprofit, caring for my daughter and managing our home alone, teaching community classes and seeing clients, and caring for my grandmother 1.5 hours away. My body fell apart, and I was barely functioning. I gave too much of myself for too long without taking the advice I was giving others.
I gained 40 pounds, had EBV, Crohn’s & Raynaud’s flares, and mitochondria dysfunction. My brain fog, lack of energy, and digestion made daily tasks almost impossible. My doctor felt I needed to go on short-term disability to give my body a break- that would not pay my bills, so I kept on the best I could.
I had to reevaluate my life and start the process of healing. I cut out gluten, dairy, and the occasional processed foods. I focused on nutrient-dense foods and smoothies with healthy fats. I became consistent with daily yoga, journaling, prayer, and meditation at home. I said NO a lot more, focused on finding a new job with less stress, and eventually left NY for sunny Florida to build a life I didn't need a vacation.
I now live a symptom-free, simple, passionate life, and have what I have dreamt of for years. And I teach others how to do the same. When you decide to change what you don't choose, become the frequency of what you want for the future; the universe will provide the way.
None of this way easy, but damn it…it was worth it….You are not alone. I have designed many programs to help you thrive, not just survive. These programs are curated from what has worked for me, so I know they work. Sending my love, always. Kris
