Welcome to Sarasota Sisterhood, a spirited women's networking organization serving Manatee and Sarasota County. We love bringing women of all ages and backgrounds together through monthly virtual and in-person networking events to create friendships and a strong community. The best part? There's no cost to join or participate in our many monthly sisterhood events. We're all about giving back and making positive impacts in our communities. 

 

Our group was founded in March 2022 by Kristen Cooper from Buffalo, NY. Kristen has spent the last 20 years creating opportunities for women to grow personally and professionally, and she's already built several amazing women's communities in other cities. 

 

Even though she didn't plan on starting another network in Florida, life had other plans. The response was overwhelming when Kristen expressed her desire for friendship in a few local groups. This led her to host a get-together at Maddison's Riverwalk, and to her surprise, 44 women showed up, many of whom are now Kristen's closest friends. 

 

From its humble beginnings, Sarasota Sisterhood has grown into a thriving community. Kristen hosted events for a year before adding six exceptional leaders to help with the group's growth and integrity: Anna Burrelli, Irena Tsafrir, Cheryl Backer Knieriem, Josephine Cannella-Krehl, Stephanie Kindenberg, and Tracey Eckman. Together, we're making Sarasota Sisterhood a place where women can connect, grow, and thrive. 

 

At Sarasota Sisterhood, we're proud to have a platform of over 12,000 women. We are dedicated to creating a positive, supportive, warm environment for newcomers and Florida natives to find or enhance their social circle. We genuinely believe that life is sweeter with good friends, and we work hard to ensure every member feels welcomed and included in our community. Our commitment to fostering a supportive and friendly atmosphere ensures that every member, regardless of their background or experience, feels valued and part of our collective journey.​​​​
